Doesn't nearly every female sports program operate at a net loss? I mean, yeah, the USNWT in soccer is a resounding success, but at the end of the day sports are entertainment for the people. People watch sports to be entertained.

The entertainment industry is one of the most pay-unequal industries that I can think of. You get paid based on the audience you can attract, and how much you can charge to be watched. You're less popular than another group? Too bad. You make less money.

This is men being forced to subsidize women's sports at their own expense. They get to make less money to subsidize a sports program that is less popular and thusly less lucrative, all in the name of "equality." Shameful.

Edit: Second thought, the USMNT isn't the greatest, but the chance to do well, I'm sure, encouraged a lot of great players to play! I wonder if this settlement will dampen the sport and reduce participation.

What a coincidence. A woman comes in and wants to dole out money to the women's team.
