Everything has pros and cons and the pros of Me Too are very clear. They seek to remove sexuality from the workplace to create a space more conducive to women working. It is hard to take orders from a boss who routinely tries to bang you or your colleague and can make life incredibly uncomfortable.

However the workplace gave people the opportunity to spend extended periods of time with the opposite sex and build attraction to them gradually. By extending the period of contact between male and female workers, there was an increased likelihood that less attractive men who were thoughtful considerate and fun could compete and find mates. Over extended periods of time, both men and women could learn new things about each other and their experiences.

Extended contact zones also disincentivized emotionally destructive behaviors. For example, if a woman had to reject a man she was working with, she couldn't call him a fat slob because she would see him the next day. Same as men could not bang and run from a woman who worked 3 feet away from them. So while rejections were common they could not be the emotionally crushing type we see today.

However Me Too has sought to reduce the sexualization of all areas where men and women have extended contact; universities, workplaces etc through increased paperwork (you have to disclose sexual relationships to your office which convinces many to not engage in them at all), societal disdain (the flirt at the office is seen as creepy and destructive).

This creates only a few places where sexual expression is considered acceptable; bars, clubs, parties. And these areas favor the most attractive people as the time between first contact, first kiss and first lay is usually between a few days to a few hours. In situations where women have only a few hours to make a sexual decision they will often simply choose the most attractive option understandably. If I had my pick of 3 or 4 women and only 4 hours to vet them, I would pick the prettiest. Because we can't learn about your good nature in 2 hours over a couple of drinks.

Am I against Me Too? Absolutely not. It is important for women to have the tools to work and climb the corporate ladder without being expected to give up sex. However I cannot deny the spillover effects it has had on the dating market. I don't have a solution but I want to know if what I have said is accurate or wrong.
