A&A vs sarcasm

in my experience it's the difference between Sarcasm which says subtly ( * eye roll * sure that's stupid) versus agreeing and amplifying which takes something some else has said and whereas they went to 7 you take it to 11 . You essentially reiterate / reframe their thought times 10 ... or amplified .

Sarcasm can at times come across as condescension , agreeing and amplifying typically comes across as more fun .

For example I let a buddy of mine sleep over last night and a plate sent me a text that said :

Plate : " I hope you have a fun sleepover, i'm imagining you two wearing cute pajamas"

My Response : "Thank you , we're going to paint each others nails and everything"

A sarcastic response might have been more along the lines of

" You'd like that wouldn't you?"

not necessarily a wrong response and I'd even argue it is just as valid as the one I sent but the tone of it is a little different .

Agreeing and amplifying illustrates embracing someone else's thought and pushing even further with it hence why it works so well for shit tests . A woman expresses a subtly challenging statement , you embrace the statement and by amplifying let her know not only does it not intimidate you but it's a silly challenge that you make can tease her over and wave away .

TLDR : I would argue A & A typically embodies more fun responses , Sarcasm often times is less fun and a little more biting . Because of this A & A can steer a conversation in a fun new direction , sarcasm sometimes can be considered an intellectual reprimand ( or at least in my experience.

Can u give some examples where u felt tour answer came off as sarcastic? IMO AA and sarcasm are kind of similar. AA should have a playful tone and you shouldn't seem butthurt
