They know they are going to lose. They know a Serious backlash is coming against lying media and activist groups. But they are taking advantage of the very due process, innocent until proven guilty that they despise and that they deny to others. Until Ambers case is thrown out and Johnny wins his, she's allowed the benefit of the doubt. They're using this final opportunity to lessen their eventually loss, to muddy the waters, to take some final jabs at Johnny. To try to provoke, to incite so they can play the victim and not be seen as the diabolical, devious and manipulative perpetrators and accomplices that they are.
