Recently, Brian Laundrie's notebook was released to the public where he confesses to killing Gabby. The contents can be read here:

He basically says that she injured herself and then he mercy killed her. Many people are saying that he's lying in the notebook to make himself look better. However, what if he was lying to make her look less violent? In his police confrontation, when the car jerked over fast when it pulled over, Brian claimed it was because Gabby pulled the steering wheel, while Gabby claimed it happened because she hit him. One police officer at the time concluded that Brian was just downplaying her violence.

Making the same general point I made my previous post on this, if the sexes were reversed and people thought the female confession was false, they would conclude that she was covering up the violence of her male partner that she killed.
