Crosspost "How to say I'm not interested after sex" from /r/datingoverthirty:

Sorry for the stupid question, but I am absolutely useless at this part. I have on a few occasions told someone I wasn't interested anymore after 2 or 3 dates with no sex. In those cases, I just wasn't feeling an attraction. I told them sorry but the chemistry wasn't right and I felt like that was a genuine answer. It was always well received and we parted with no hard feelings.

On the other hand, whenever I lose interest in someone after we've had sex, I have no clue how to handle it. If I'm lucky, it's a mutual fade. But a few times, they contacted me again and tbh, I pretty much ghost. To be fair, I feel like not contacting me for 2 weeks after sex then popping up again asking what I'm up to isn't exactly showing much interest. I wouldn't ghost someone who seemed to genuinely be interested. Anyway, I digress..My actual question is how do you tell someone you've been out with 3 or 4 times and had sex with that you are no longer interested? I don't want to be shitty and ghost again. I hate lying, but in this case the reason is terrible sex and he kind of seems selfish, and I just feel gross at the thought of him touching me again. Can't exactly tell him the truth. And the old chemistry excuse only really works before sex.
