I was working as a delivery driver for a while and there were few places to meet women. Dating apps are a hopeless venture. I thought my only chance is to take a risk and give someone my number. But most girls I met were less than 10 seconds of interaction during a delivery. There was one girl at a cafe I delivered to twice a year. She was pretty and cute and I'd complimented her artful tattoos before and she had responded well. So for weeks I carried a little note in my pocket that said

"Call me :) (If you like)"

with my name and number below. I hoped, confident but not pushy. I was terrified of how she might respond. Most, I was afraid she'd make a complaint and get me in trouble. But I thought I'm probably worried about nothing. She was in store 50% of the time. So after chickening out like 4 times, I saw a good opening and went up to her on my way out. I smiled warmly but I was slightly shaky with nerves and ended up just saying "Hey, I know we don't really know each ither but I just think you seem pretty cool so I just wanted to give you this". She smiled and said thanks, seeming a little uncertain/polite from not knowing how to react. I gave a nervous smile and nod and said "see ya" and headed out right away, maybe too fast but not wanting to hold her in any discomfort. Outside I was shaking like mad, like a chihuahua.

I never saw her again. She either quit or moved to another branch. What else could it be? She was NEVER there again. So I'm here having to conclude that this guy in his 20s nervously giving his number to her with no expectations was so incredibly threatening she had no choice but to quit her fucking job to never see him again. Do you know how shit that feels?
