With midterm elections around the corner in the USA, now is a great time to get out there and have your voice heard by congressional candidates. Federal politics starts at the local level, and now is an excellent time to have your voice heard. Here is how to do it:

Find your district. This tells you who your rep is, but it also tells you your district.

On google, search the following with your state and district filled in:

ballotpedia congressional candidate <state> <district>

You will get a list of candidates, as an example, this is the page for Alabama's first congressional district I got by searching:

With the list of candidates, search their names to find their websites. Most have have a way to contact them via the website or email, but some don't. I ask them the following:

Do you have any town hall or other meetings scheduled where voters can speak with you on important issues?

Some districts will even have events where the candidates set up booths and tables in a convention center. Dress nice, have a plan for what you want to say, and go ask some questions.
