Our being silenced is just as, if not more, attributable to the fact that we've prioritized griping about this shit on social media over taking sociopolitical action out on the ground, where it really counts. Until we start going door to door in neighborhoods across America, and hammering home to John and Jane Q public that continuing to use The Duluth Model isn't just bad for men, but bad for our nation, we won't be seeing much improvement to our material circumstances

Any suggestions on how to take action without loosing face?

There will always be people who hurl disapproval our way, when we challenge widely-held prejudices and biases. We can blunt the Intersectionalist-sympathizing MSM's ability to mischaracterize our efforts in the press by being a lot more conscientious of how we look and what we say in front of the camera, ala. earlier and successful civil rights heroes, like Thurgood Marshall and the remarkable James Cook https://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=101833696

Prominent MRAs like Paul Elam, Al Johnson, and Brian Martinez have gone out of their way to personify all the stereotypes about MRAs being near beard wearing, morbidly obese Gagmergate enthusiasts, who speak in nothing but Manosphere jargon, and who have a tough time not throwing a tantrum whenever someone says something they don't agree with. This is the equivalent of eco-warriors hugging trees, and then finding it shocking that no one takes them seriously

This movement needs more wellspoken leaders. Acting angry wont get us anywhere. Our opponents are very well skilled when it comes to rhetoric we need to step up our game if we want to change anything. Crying online wont change anything.

Yeah; going forward, it's going to be wise for us to start thinking and behaving more like political strategists, and less like shock jocks on YouTube, who's first and only priority is showing their asses in public for the express purpose of drawing attention to themselves. That shit was cute was cute for all of five minutes back in '15, and it's become stale and hackneyed ever since. Ask those who are staffing flagship organizations like AVFM and HBR what their objectives are, and what steps they're taking to achieve them...... After they spend half an hour ducking and diving, the very folks who claim to speak on our behalf will spout off long trite jargon(Red Pill/Blue Pill/Purple Pill, Gynocentricsm, Hypergamy, Cultural Marxism)as a means of not saying a damn thing

Not getting clear about what we want and what we're willing to do to get there hasn't been helpful. Worse than that, The MRM's leadership has shown no desire to tie "men's issues" into the subjects which are foremost in the minds of most Americans(well-paying jobs, access to upward mobility, safe neighborhoods, less tax money out of everyone's pocket at the end of the year, access to state of the art health care, access to sold housing), which has proven to be a recipe for the stagnation we now find ourselves in

Exs. If we're serious about making shared parenting legislation the law of the land, this is probably going to mean going door to door and hammering home the cost to taxpayers that's incurred by protracted litigation in family court, plus the risk to public safety that kids without fathers pose to public safety. Not to mention the health care costs incurred by teen mothers, the rates of which rise precipitously when fathers aren't in the picture

Ditto with abolishing Title IX Star Chambers.. Affronts to justice like this have been occurring on our campuses since the early 90s in some capacity, and framing it is a men's issue rather than an American one hasn't been successful. If we're serious about getting anything done, it just may be more intelligent to start nailing the opposition on the fact that handing criminal investigations over to university administrators doesn't actually lock up violent criminals. At best, it releases predators from a more confined environment(the campus)and onto the far richer hunting ground that is the larger society

I'm fully prepared to receive accusations of being "an assimilationist" by advancing the sort of approach I'm recommending. If anyone's got a more practical idea, I'm all ears. Yeah. I've heard the most famous MRA on Earth-Paul Elam-'s recommendation that men "vote with their feet". As of this writing, he hasn't left The US, is still paying taxes(despite his assertion that "the system is hopelessly rigged and gynocentric"), and has been in what's effectively a common law marriage for nearly 18 years, despite preaching the virtues of MGTOW from his pulpit. Pseudo-separatism such as this wasn't viable for the gay community when wannabe revolutionaries like The GLF encouraged them to pretend to break away from the rest of civilization back in the 70s, and it ain't a winning bet for men here in '22 either

Thats right. If we want change we have to fight for it. Running away wont solve our problems.

[–]mechajutaro 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah; we've got nowhere to run to anyway

I'll take this one step further..... Now that The MRM has failed to relieve our day to day burdens in any concrete, tangible sense(talking here things like securing us paths to upward mobility via greater access to vocational training, making legislative headway on shared parenting, ending a drug war which disproportionately locks up men, etc etc)there's cause for those of us who are "Post-MRM" to take a collective step back, and re-examine many of the unquestioned core beliefs which have animated The MRM since it's inception.

Similar to what Post-Enviromentalists/Eco-Modernists have done in regards to Environmentalism. Today, one could easily and aptly put together a film like this about The MRM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8dl7MklMQQ . As you say, our insistence on remaining enraged has obliterated our capacity to think rationally, much less form coherent strategies for addressing our difficulties
