Explanation of "Wife Beating" in Islam (also applies to other situations in history)

To be clear, I am not endorsing what this person is advocating. But it is an interesting commentary on the supposed "oppression" of women in the past and other countries. When men were given a certain authority over women for necessary reasons given the lack of technology, there was required to be some level of force to back up that authority. If women went against the rules of society, there would be force applied to them, just like men.
