So I used to keep a private journal of my thoughts, things that happened in my day, etc. It wasn't to "let my feelings out" but more because I like reflecting on my life. How things progress, where things are headed etc. It's nice seeing a snapshot of how you used to be compared with how you are and what you believe now.
I have an un-dated journal entry I recently found during my first bit of time discovering TRP. It really provided some insight into my resistance with TRP theory and I think it can be extended to others and why they don't necessarily like or accept TRP.
My notes went from complete rejection of the idea/dismissal, to general curiosity and wanting to understand. At the 'wanting to understand' phase I kept bringing up the fact that this was just not logical. Why would any woman want this? Women don't seriously want guys who are 'alpha' right? I mean confidence is one thing, but guys who deliberately keep women in check as though they're a child? No way. Any girl who wants that isn't the girl for me anyway.
Basically, I tried to justify TRP theory logically. As most men would. We want to understand the process. Tell me about it all you want, if I can't follow some sort of logical progression, I won't care/listen. That there is the problem. Men often seek logical proof when the whole theory revolves around the ILLOGICAL actions of women; and we can't blame women for that either. They logically want a nice guy too. Logically they want a guy who treats them well. They don't want some controlling asshole, logically.
But unlike men, women don't act on their logical thoughts, but their intuitive feelings and in this, subconscious desires are king. Then what? Well, then they try to JUSTIFY their illogical decision with LOGIC. This is where you hear things like, "well I like him because he's confident, and assertive! He knows what he wants, even if he's mean on the outside, he's really a softy on the inside, once you get to know him." They don't want to admit that they really want a controlling alpha because that's not logical. So, they try to put a spin on it. "He's confident!"
Men, who usually put logic ahead of subconscious desire, don't understand this "behind the scenes illogical decision-making" so they take the logical answer given to them by the women. They assume they can really be nice guys and find women. They just need to be more confident, right? But there's a fine line between confident and alpha. Once you cross the confident/nice line, you start to really figure out what TRP is all about. You realize confidence is just a sugar-coated way for women to admit they want a rough fucking and a man who tells them what to do. A man who keeps them in line. And if you're nice, that's not going to cut it.
Plain and simple. Hope I've provided a bit of insight.
