Like when they say you’re one of the few good guys, or I wish more men were like you. First of all, I never know what to say back because it feels like a backhanded compliment where they’re not able to put me up without putting someone else down. Second, I don’t know about those other men and I don’t care about those other men so there’s no need to compare them to me or vice versa.

I used to like those compliments when I was younger because it made me feel better than other men and would even join in the shitting of them which I now find cringe. I don’t know why some people are not able to give a simple compliment without putting someone else down because it doesn’t feel sincere. Does anyone else ever feel the same.
