I watch a lot of movies in my free time and have come across several misandrist movies written by female directors (who in many cases identify as being "feminists") that were clearly made with the intent to shit on men. In these types of movies, most of the female characters are nearly perfect with very little personality flaws (in many cases they are always a victim to a man in some way), and most of the male characters are written to be over the top misogynistic, rapey, toxic, stupid and incompetent, etc. When I look at the ratings and reviews for these type of movies, I expect the movie critics to call out the blatant misandry in them and rate/review them poorly, but when I look at the ratings/reviews for them (from both men and women) they are overwhelmingly positive. Now I know that in today's society, a lot of women are misandric (especially on Twitter), so I'm not really surprised that female movie critics rate misandrist movies highly. What I am confused by, however, is how so many male critics rate misandrist movies highly. I was wondering if any of y'all could shed some light on why that is.
