Thoughts on literature similar to “the handmaids tale”?

Haven't read it, so I don't really have an opinion on it.

If I had to fabricate an opinion based on what I've heard about it, I'd say it was weird that I'm supposed to care about an ideological version of a wife being mad at her husband because of something he did in her dream, because if he was better she wouldn't have had a dream like that.

We get it feminists, you imagined a fictional story and now you're going to slap us in the face with it, because you wouldn't have been able to imagine a fictional story like that if women weren't oppressed, or something.

Maybe the story is actually good, I don't know, but I find it silly how it's often invoked by feminists. It's like their 1984.

I read the book, and it is terrifying how realistic parts of it are, since abortion rights are discussed and other laws about for example rape
