Yes, because my (now) husband asked if I'd had boyfriends or relationships in the past and I hadn't. I saw my friends getting used and hurt so I had no interest in casual relationships. I observed and learned from their mistakes. I was honest because I had nothing to hide although he didn't believe me at first because meeting a western-raised virgin at my age was not something he expected. So at first he was incredulous, but then very happy once he believed me.

I wouldn't volunteer this information unless he asks though. This information is important to the majority of men, but I think a lot of them are afraid of finding out more than they bargained for and risking how they feel about their partner so they just don't even go there to avoid potential issues. But, if he asks I would be 100% honest.

I volunteered it when we made-out for the first time and I didn't want things to move too fast. I broke away and told him "I really like you, but you're like the second guy I've even kissed."
He swears he wouldn't have asked, had I not volunteered. I more or less believe him, because he has friends who haven't asked their wives. He was 30 and I was 27, so he'd have just assumed I'd had a few and he didn't need the details. He has, however, admitted that if he'd somehow found out it was especially high, it would bother him.

In your case, I just wouldn't volunteer the number unless directly asked. A lot of guys who don't frequent RP subs don't want to know, especially as you get older. I know a lot of women who just lie, but I'd always worry that it would come out. It might not serve me well, but I'd probably just avoid or be honest, myself. He could accept it or not and we could part ways if necessary.

I've never offered this information and I've never had a man ask. Men don't want to think about other men having sex with you, don't go looking for things to ruin your relationship. If it's a deal breaker for him, leave it to him to raise with you. There's no point putting something in his head that he didn't ask for.

It's better to be honest. If you have a high body count, there are subtle behavioral cues that guys can detect even if you never discuss this topic. Considering hookup culture has existed for at least a decade (Tinder founded in 2012) any low number is likely not going to be believed. This is sad because I have female friends that I know well that have a low body count but I know my guy friends will never believe it. I understand your hesitation because if your guy is truly traditional then a big number is going to matter to him.

Aside - This is a large topic of discussion in men's RP spaces. The root of the tension is that traditionally male characteristics (protector, provider, etc.) are sought out by women but men are shamed for seeking out traditionally female characteristics (virginity, femininity, etc.)
