Never found the whole man in female clothes funny like I just found it to be gay and unfunny when younger, these days I think it is just unfunny. That being said I do find it weird that according to Chapelle when he told them he didn't want to do it, they tried to shame him

It’s not even that deep. Mainstream popular society finds “black femaleness or femmes” funny. In the same way they found whoever Mrs. doubt fire was imitating funny.

Many black male comedians and comedic actors mocked their female relatives or friends or partners as part of their bit.

Can’t be mad when you do that and people want more of it.
