Backstory: this girl gets a bunch of attention from guys. And she knows she's hot. She happens to my best friends cousin. That being said, I've attended a lot of their family events. I've been around her a lot; in circumstances most guys wouldn't ever find themselves in.

About 5 years ago the fields of attraction were set ablaze. Heard thought the grapevine that she liked me. We'd text back and forth- some flirty , some serious, the whole shebang. It didn't amount to much because I lived 5 hours away. And when she was in the area I never hit her up. Except once and she flaked. So I tossed her off to the side.

She now lives around me. And I've started attending some of these family events again. I've seen her once already. But didn't give her much attention. I texted her happy bday. Kept the convo short and flirty. She sent the last text.

Fast forward to now: I'm going to another of their family events. More than likely, she's gonna be there. I don't wanna be reserved and play it safe. I wanna take some risks and be bold this time around.

I tend to err on the side of playing it safe. But I absolutely need to be bold here despite her family being around. How do I navigate this?

Also I'm definitely sensing some oneitis. I've caught myself visualizing conversations with this girl, thinking of witty retorts. I feel like I'm over investing. How do I get rid if this? Or use this as fuel for fire?
