My husband grew up wealthy and very sheltered. He didn’t even know that secular entertainment existed until his teens. Like, had never even heard of it. He had maids and million dollar homes. Trust me when I say that no matter how sheltered the kid, they still have their own brand of problems to overcome, and have plenty of opportunities to develop masculine traits. My husband is absolutely one of the greatest men i’ve ever met, in spite of his strange upbringing. The rest of his family…. not so much. I lived with them for about a year during lockdown, and I can say with absolute certainty that things are not what they seem with these types of families. They really look down on my husband for who he is, which he has taken in amazing stride. He’s a very generous, genuine, intelligent, proper man in spite of how he grew up. So, it’s not about what you’re given, but what you do with it.

Full text: Hi, is my thinking faulty? Am I missing something?

For example, Prince William. Of course he is an awesome provider and does his duties well and Kate is very well-kept and cared for. HOWEVER

I was watching videos of them. I am 100% sure that William, like all politicians and celebrities, has an acting coach. That coach is teaching him mannerisms on how to display/give an impression of being powerful/respectable/masculine. I see those mannerisms and they are kinda forced.

I couldn't help but think "Why are you doing these "powerful" mannerisms? You were born in a castle. You never been through anything that "toughens" a man. Everybody was nice to you. You just did everything your grandma/staff/parents told you to. Heck you probably never even been bullied."

I am not trashing Prince William, I feel this same way about all men who were born rich and grew up sheltered.

Of course he does his duties well and deserves respect for that, but on the "masculinity" department I just can't respect sheltered boys.
