I wrote a longer response previously. Slightly shorter version: This is for the most part a very subjective self-reported survey. Such surveys tend to over exaggerate issues especially compared to objective crime data.

For example consider their question about having abused opioids: Someone who took a prescribed dose but took one more than necessary might answer yes. So might a person who is obtaining illegal opioids to fuel an addiction. Obviously, these are two very different scenarios but both could be equally counted as an incident of having abused an opioid.

Ask women if they have ever been touched on their butt against their wishes, and now you have the data to claim sexual assault is rampant, even though most responding never claimed they were assaulted (someone being bumped into on the subway could elicit a yes response). I could do a survey asking men if they’ve ever been pushed, slapped or shoved against their will and produce findings that claim almost all men are victims of battery but don’t report it.

Bottom line: I think such self reported, self perceived information can provide some insights but it’s much more variable than hard, objective data.

We have actual crime data and actual school reporting data under the clearly act. We have data about how many people are being treated for drug addiction. We have data about actual suicide rates. So, why is the CDC glossing over all this hard data in favor of far more subjective survey information?

TL:DR just skimmed it. Wait, teenagers do risky things, whaaaaaaa?

IDK if this is part of it, cause again, didn't read careful like. But there's a huge chunk of youth that think they have no future because they've been brainwashed to believe this global warming will kill us all BS.
