If I were accused of rape and my school wanted me to submit to an administrative investigation, I would retain a criminal defense lawyer immediately and refuse to meet with or respond to any of it without my attorney. If expelled, I would sue the school.

Filing these Title IX complaints by young men is inevitable. I don't think direct engagement with the feds is the best answer, though, for any individual - I would insist on bringing in the criminal justice system asap.

The backlash to these Title IX regs is going to result in changes. I can't think of any other felony that schools have the right/obligation to adjudicate without criminal justice system involvement. The feds should and probably will drop the administrative requirements and move this back into the criminal justice system where, for all its faults, this belongs.

The victims of false accusations are expected to lie down and die. After all, they are secretly guilty, and merely 'got away with it.'
