The TL;DR is that an all-female league is looking likely to crop up. This has been met with backlash, as LoL is comprised of only 10% women, and of them none are at the top of the ladder. This is nothing new; women have many things they excel at over men, but technical mastery is not one of them. In every true meritocracy of skill, it's almost always men at the top.

So why the backlash? For starters, it validates everything we know about women being validation seeking. Why these women in the ~50th percentile think they're worth paying attention to is beyond me. Secondly, the insistence of an all-female league is square admission that they can't compete with men, so they insist on having the bar lowered for them. So much for equality.

Of course, the exact opposite of this is parroted over and over again by a demographic that largely lends itself to being highly beta. Should we be surprised?
