Sorry, but no. Even the article the blogger linked to says otherwise:

Men in a study tended to think that women were a full point more interested in them than women actually were.
Men were most likely to misread signals from attractive women.
Evolution may have had a role in shaping men's overconfidence.

Getting and staying fit plus well developed social skills will make you the hottest person you can be.

Just a thought about why men think women are more attracted to them than they are and its inverse.

Women are much more physically affectionate with their friends and they think nothing of it, it is perfectly normal for them to hug and casually touch each other. Men on the other hand, at least in modern times, are discouraged from touching each other. Often too worried someone might think we're gay. Since we almost never touch each other, when a woman touches us it is an unfortunately unusual experience for most men and we over analyze it. The woman on the other hand sees nothing unusual about this and if she is attracted she is in fact probably over analyzing herself about why we are so loathe to touch her, completely naive of the fact that we are loathe to touch anyone in general.
