For a long time, I've thought that the way Marxist Feminism casts gendered problems as a class struggle with oppressors/subjugates was wrong, but I couldn't quite put my finger on why. Commenting on an AskMen thread this morning, I realized something big. So, here's the relevant copy/paste:

The problem I have with Patriarchy theory is that it jumps to false (and sexist) conclusions based on the observation that positions of extreme power are usually held by men. Many of these conclusions are simply confusing correlation with causation, but casting the problems that are unique to one gender as a class/race struggle is not right as classes and races are more horizontal slices of society while genders are vertical slices existing orthogonally to class and race. In this way, feminists complaining about the undue power of men at the top of society are failing to see that the men next to them have the identical complaint, so patriarchy theory is unfairly tagging non-gendered issues as gendered.
