Ignoring the obvious cherry-picking of her bad guys (I mean come on, the bad dudes in "the 'burbs" were just creepy old guys with bad hair and a lack of social skills we can look at it a bit more seriously.

Such as this thought: Film uses amplification of character traits to create easy to recognize characters in a film that does not seek primarily character development and personal revelation. To that end the average scary looking dude well - we've all just seen him on the street after a few bad decisions anyways. We need something more to really get our hackles up. But a vicious awful woman (never mind the classic succubus/mermaid tropes of using beauty maliciously) only needs be a bit off kilter for us to fear the strange and different. Is her argument then that we don't fear women enough? If so...I'm kind of inclined to agree.
