Procter & Gamble is the top U.S. ad spender with a $4.2 billion media budget. Their yearly revenue is $84.2 billion USD

Of course, it doesn't make sense for a luxury car brand to spend money marketing to people who can't afford their products in the first place, whereas, since we're talking about sexual strategy, it makes a lot of sense to market yourself to ALL women, not just 9's and 10's.

I don't think either the original or my own examples are very good here though. The thing is, when it comes to dollars, quantity is directly proportional to quality.

But when it comes to women, I'm sure many guys would rather get with five 9's rather than with thirty 5's.

But they do advertise! Just differently. Why make an ad for the masses when just a select few of those can buy it? Better to make a few cameos in movies and rap videos, and promote the celebs that own one. The dude watching car commercials on ESPN at 2:00 PM may not be able to afford a Bentley but the upper middle class dudes who want to emulate James Bond and the hood rich dudes wanting to emulate Kanye may. Different strategy but same thing. They get you to want stupid stuff you dont need just through more targeted advertising. This same strategy works for pickup e.g. you want a chick go to a bar and look for drunkie, you want a particular chick and you better focus on more SMV and getting her friends to talk about you
