So, this girl has been chasing me for a while. She had a boyfriend and we worked together so I let her know that I wasn't really interested in hooking up when so much drama could ensue, especially because she is the feisty type.

I just left her on the backburner and was waiting for things to maybe fizzle out with her boyfriend so we could hook up. Although not sure if I broke frame here. I left the job I had with her a month ago.

She saw me one day out in public and texted me telling me. She was very bubbly saying lol to everything I said. I said she should say hi the next time she sees me and she says she didn't want to bother me. Then I say, "You should. I mean, I haven't even seen you in a while. Would have been nice. btw have they hired anybody to replace my position yet at (old job)"

She then takes 10 minutes to respond and simply answers my question with no emotion or lols like she was previously. I'm not sure if I broke frame so eventually I tell her I have to go because I'm meeting up with a friend and I'll talk to her later (I was actually meeting up with a friend).

Did she interpreted this like I miss you or something? It popped in in my head because I actually haven't seen her in a while and I do like her personality (she's actually funny and makes me laugh). I've never shown such overt interest in her at all so maybe the incongruity of me saying it would have been nice to see her scared her off?

Damn. This is why I hate texting. No idea how she interpreted it. Maybe I'm overthinking it? Still don't know why she seemed so put off though after me stating that.
