After graduating I moved back home with my parents (as many people do), three years later and two failed jobs I am still here. To this date, I just have absolutely no enthusiasm for dating or trying to "sell myself" in social settings, solely because I've drummed it into myself that it's a completely futile endeavour. I base this largely off of a girl I tried getting with saying, "I'm only attracted to successful guys". Maybe other girls are more welcoming and accepting of my circumstance, but I'm too cynical to even try.

As a recent college graduate looking for employment, I'm not looking to date for similar reasons. I value financial independency for both myself and any future SO I may have.

Just to disagree with author, today as I turn 27 I have everything .. Pecks, excellent pay, and a 340 hp car but as someone scorn from my early 20s ... Hell would freeze over before I become anyone's meal ticket or anyone's emotional tampons.
