I took it, but it did seem like you rephrased each question 10 times instead of just 2 or 3.

I'm not going to lie to you, I completed the first 5 pages, then I stopped. I had no idea how long was left and I carefully considered every question. 20 minutes was way too long, please make the next one shorter by skipping repeated or redundant questions.

When I answered 'Strongly Agree' to 'Men should be able to fix most things around the house' and 'Men should be able to take care of their car' or whatever the exact wording were, I would have given the same answer if you replaced 'Men' with 'Women'. People should be able to tend to their property.

I'm posting this here for r/MensRights because I want a fair and balanced response across many groups of men. I manage a gender research group at the University of Akron that focuses specifically on men's issues.
I'm not here to convince you of anything. I really want to know your opinions on masculinity and your reactions to our survey. The wording in our study was intentional and while I can't say more about that right now I will post an explanation after the study ends. I suspect that the preponderance of similar questions is meant to tease out subtle differences.

e.g., I have little trouble communicating my emotions with my romantic partners (we communicate A LOT), but I don't like to communicate them much with anything less than close friends.

A rather late follow-up by Reddit standards, but the data we collected for this study has been analyzed and I promised to share some of our results. What we have so far tells us that one section of our survey has very mixed results, and that in the future we should avoid using those questions.
We've also found that the parts of the survey that had consistent results revealed that there is one underlying factor to men's beliefs about masculinity and that there are several sub-factors that we can identify.
Thank you to everyone who took the study. I hope you'll consider taking part in our newest study that will be posted soon.
TL;DR Some of our questions are not useful. There are specific parts to men's ideas of masculinity.
