First post here! I have been getting great advice lurking through this subreddit the last few months, and thought it was finally time to add some value of my own. Here's my shitty experience with dating apps and how I turned it around with AI. I use dating apps with the aim of getting dates and finding a meaningful relationship. The amount of swiping, small talk, flaking, and attention whores I have to get through before getting a single date is excruciatingly draining. Although I can scrape together dates from time to time, it takes so much time filtering through the BS. As a busy startup engineer, it can be challenging to spend hours swiping and chatting with potential matches. Not to mention the disappointment of matching with someone, only to have the conversation fizzle out before you can even set up a date.
As a side project, I decided to build a virtual wingman to automate the tedious swiping/chatting process on the apps. It's been working pretty good, I've gone on 7 dates this month without opening any dating apps. I've let my close friends use it and they've seen similar success so I've decided to let Reddit on to help more men.
My favorite thing about the bot is that it learns my preferences and only swipes on girls that are my type. When it finds a match, it engages in conversation with the person to determine if we're compatible and then schedules a date if everything goes well. And since it's integrated with Google calendar it only schedules dates when I'm free, which tends to be only on Sundays.
I can't tell you how much time and effort this has saved me. I'm no longer spending hours on dating apps every day, and I'm finally getting more dates than ever before.
So, that's my story. I'm curious to hear your experiences with dating apps and any tips or tricks you've found to make the process more manageable. If anyone wants to check out my virtual wingman, let me know if it helps you: https://wingman-ai.myshopify.com
