From an evolution prospective, it also makes sense that women would be better able to carry it and not have it debilitate them as they can better pass it on to their offspring (from the virus's survival). Also, nature would want the one's who need to carry children to be better able to avoid illness.

I thought this was already known? Women have a stronger immune system because of child-bearing. This is why autoimmune illnesses affect women worse than men. I’d heard this many years ago.
