This shows 2 things - that in The UK at the heart of healthcare males are disposable and second class.

Institutional Misandry
With reference to the Steven Lawrence Inquiry Findings under section 6.34;

The collective failure of an organisation to provide an appropriate and professional service to people because of their status as male. It can be seen or detected in processes, attitudes and behaviour which amount to discrimination through unwitting prejudice, ignorance, thoughtlessness and sexist stereotyping which disadvantage males.
