Cordelia Fine is a british psychologist and her latest publication is an essay entitled 'Testosterone Rex' where she argues that testosterone is not a significant cause in predicting or explaining different sexual strategies and different behavioral patterns between the genders. I read the book (I didn't buy it, I downloaded the pdf from piratebay) and if you ask my opinion I found it to be a collection of all the most common fallacies ranging from straw man, cherrypicking of datas favourable to her position, faulty causation, false authority, motte and bailey etc.
She obviously can't accept the notion that testosterone is responsible for a different sexual strategy in men that leads to a higher level of competition in order to impress women and it's one of the main reasons why men are at the top of the social ladder. Her book won the Royal Society 2017 award and received positive reviews on different publications. What does that tell us about our society when this kind of science denialism is supported by so many sides of the political debate?
