US - Michigan parents could get more joint custody, shared parenting time under House bill

People, this is our big chance. PLEASE e-mail state lawmakers in Michigan, and urge them to support this bill. We always wonder how we can gain some men's rights victories, and this is our golden opportunity to do so. E-mail them something like this:

Dear Rep. ____,

Please support Michigan House Bill 4691. In a time when 84% of custody cases do not get a joint ruling in America, our children cannot afford to feel alienated from either one of their parents. Several scientific studies have shown that children lead healthier lives if they spend equal time with both parents following a divorce. Many children will act out or turn to crime if they lack a strong, multi-parent upbringing. Due to these reasons, it is critical that we support and ultimately pass HB 4691. Please vote YES on this crucial piece of legislation that will do worlds of good for Michigan.

The important thing, my fellow MRAs, is that we give the sociological/scientific argument, and not the men's rights argument. People will probably not vote our way if we give the men's rights argument, but there is a good chance that they will if we give an argument that shows the good this great bill will do for society.

The bill passed the House Judiciary Committee, which Runestad chairs, 6-3-1 with Democrats opposing it.

Democrats opposing fathers on general principals? Shocking.
