I don't get these "people". If you don't want the child you can do a couple of things.

don't whore around in the first place
give it up to adoption
abortion
my country has an option to anonymously give away the child to certain places where they will be put up for adoption.

Leaving a child to potentially die needs to be equated to killing the child with the necessary consequences.

This is horrible and I'm not defending this type of behavior, but I feel like there's enough cases like this to where something medical is going on. My opinion is that pregnancy and birth are so traumatic something snaps in the mother's mind, this is some kind of PTSD/mental break that needs to studied more.
