I am glad that guys like Brendan and Terry crews are speaking up,

its unfortunate that it hasn't grabbed the same media attention as a lot of the cases being talked about in the #metoo movement, and it worries me, because I guess it doesn't fit with the current narrative.

That narrative is about men being evil to women.

when in actual fact, the issue as far as I see it, is there are some real bastards who are hooked on power and use that power however they see fit, regardless of their targets - man, woman, child.

If you look at the abuses of the coreys, and how when they tried to come out about their suffering they were abused and shamed publicly by some of the most powerful in hollywood.

I wish more people would understand that anyone can be a victim of sexual assault, it isn't just male on female.

those in a position of power who just happen to target women more than any other gender. and rather than support all genders, you accuse “the MEDIA OOOOH SCARY” of not caring about men, in the comment section of a submission of an article about a man, from a magazine with millions of subscribers, in a subreddit whose users mock men who recount being raped, unless it’s politically convenient to pretend you support the man, from behind a username which takes pride in hating women.

you’re transparent and merely a recorder which recites what a bunch of dishonest youtube personalities tell you to recite. you could very well try to be your own person, with your own morals and beliefs, who engages in activism and supports victims. instead, you respond to a man discussing abuse he received, by accusing an unnamed group of not supporting the man, despite evidence to the contrary, and accuse other rape and abuse survivors of having “A NARRATIVE OOOOH EXTRA SCARY” solely for existing.

be a better person. be your own person. stop consuming garbage like this sub. stop being a tool.

I've never seen anyone mocking men who recount being raped on this Subreddit? are you able to provide a link / reference to where you are getting that from?

Perhaps I was unclear, I was talking about the cases of the Coreys who were abused as children, and when they came out they were relentlessly mocked and destroyed.

I'm not unsupportive of the #metoo movement, however I believe that all crimes, particularly those of a sexual nature should provide anonymity to both the accuser and the accused until they can have their day in court, Bastards using their power and priviledge to assault people need to be hung up to dry. But I don't believe in mob justice, as history has shown us, mob justice can lead to injustices very quickly if the mob turns on the wrong person (due to misinformation, etc)

While my username is a bit unfortunate, it was a tongue in cheek play at the old trope regarding the "lovable misogynist hero" ala indiana jones, han solo, james bond, Ash from evil dead, etc. It certainly isn't an indication of my beliefs.

You've no idea who I am, nor the level to which I'm involved in activism or support of victims.

My mentioning and discussing the media treatment and the current overwhelming narrative is not an accusation against rape and abuse survivors;

If you review my original comment, I was stating that I had hoped this would lead to more acceptance for male victims of rape and abuse to come out, as when you see the treatment the Coreys recieved when they tried to come out about the abuses they suffered a few years ago they were attacked.

I would hope that the movement shifts to be understanding and supportive for all victims of rape and abuse, regardless of what physical gender they are.

you on the other hand have attacked me purely based on where I posted my comment and built in a strawman argument regarding my views - which are apparently from a bunch of dishonest youtube personalities?

Can you let me know which youtube channels these are? and what channels I listen to?
