I saw a comment (either to this article or one similar) that basically said men need to "man up"; that they were tired of all the "male tears"; and that "real men" should be able to "take a shaming" because it is important to "have a dialogue on bad sex."

--And by "have a dialogue" she means women airing men's alleged dirty laundry for the entire world to see.

I was in a graduate program where the women (with some men tagging along) would openly talk about penis size and how they were size queens.

The program was constantly maligning men for "sexual assault" and for how men aren't meeting women's needs. The women would refer to men as if they were dogs. Many, if not most, of the women were either single mothers or feminist lesbians with massive chips on their shoulders toward men. You couldn't be their ally if you tried. The women who might not have been like that played the "I'm the woman, come to me" game as if they weren't surrounding by feminist nonsense that they never talked poorly of. They silently consented to feminism, then wondered why they never found their husband but never put in effort though they got special women's privileges. It really is the "buffet line equality" "I want this, ooh yes definitely that, no not that, but this." Even the women here, and I'm not saying this to be hateful, still expect the man to "be a man" because it works for them. That's the only reason--because it works for them and allows them to be passive and put effort into other areas of their life. So men have to dump time and energy into women who don't return the favor.

The only way to win is to either be a caricature of a stud or not play. And not playing isn't a life worth living. Thus life isn't worth living.

WTF? Most guys don't do the stud thing and get on fine. A lot of women can't stand studs.

[–]fasdadfsdfasfd 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

I'd bet you money they have private misgivings.

Maybe you're fine with having all the details of sex (both positive and negative) being outed to everyone at work, in school, in private social circles, but it's not particularly prosocial behavior. Not everyone wants that to be part of their public persona. It's not in fashion to talk about the differences in effort or expectations in this "equal" society, but they are there, and they affect both sexes negatively.

A lot of women can't stand studs.

In theory, no. But real life has a funny way of rubbing in everyone's face the difference between theory and reality. What people say and what they do aren't always things they can admit to themselves. Most of the people in that graduate program were either single mothers or lesbians. Those were the facts. The single mothers weren't having kids with nerds, or guys who "respect" women and aren't as forward. That's uncomfortable, but it's true.

I agree publicising the story about Ansari was unfair. I'd guess his dick gets around town a fair bit and if he has a serious problem then it shouldn't be hard to find a few others to back up the story. If they can't be found then a single source is not enough to hang a story this damaging on.

"Grace" had been shopping her story around for some time, which is why someone said earlier Ansari will be next to go down. No reputable news site would touch it, and in the end Babe took it. The Babe writer has shown she is a lightweight through the article itself, and her extraordinary bitch-back when she was criticised by a comedian.

I don't agree with this article's contention that we should not be talking about anything less than legal sexual assault though. It is a great time to talk about the other stuff, I don't see why people should have difficulty distinguishing between the various things that go wrong with consent.

This is what we mean when we say modern women (especially liberal ones) have no boundaries. They WILL make your private life public.

See: this story, this topic, this article, this poster.

I might be misunderstanding what you mean by stud. Most women like men with some social skills, not crippled by shyness, not overweight.
At university age many will still be happy to use fuckboys.

I'm curious about your class composition. Why such a shortage of childless straight women? And why were the mothers single?

[–]fasdadfsdfasfd 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

Most women like men with some social skills, not crippled by shyness, not overweight.

That's a really ridiculous way to say they find attractive "men(tm)" who do all the work (or most of the work, you'll deny this because you don't want to hear our perspective) for them. This is where suddenly gender roles are simply "understanding human behavior" and not the horrible oppressive things they are outside of sex, relationships, and other arenas where women hold almost all the power. That makes everything sound so much more reasonable when you soften the edges of reality to make it sound more palatable.

...but then you turn it around in the next sentence and admit....

At university age many will still be happy to use fuckboys.

OK, so you want to use the term "fuckboy" and not "stud" and that was the point of contention? But that goes against the idea that they don't want studs. They do. They simply have a new word for it so they can feel they have power (i.e. The reason the stud doesn't marry/have a relationship/respect me even though he's the coolest guy in the group is because he's a "fuckboy." It's a really transparent way to lie to one's self and pretend to have power and control where one doesn't. it's crazy how transparent this all is). Or, it's basically affirming the idea of sex as a purely pleasure/attraction based thing, and admitting that marriage is simply a money drain. It's incredibly dehumanizing for anyone who puts any more importance on sex than a handshake.

Are you for real? Can you stay out of this one?

No one wants to marry some other guy's used goods. That's the male perspective, take it or leave it. It's crazy how you both affirm and deny something, while holding contention with the verbiage.

[–]JebberJabber 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You don't know the male perspective as well as you think. That sounds like RedPill stuff.

I'm a man, I wanted a life partner to raise a family with, and I chose a whole crowd of men's "used goods".

My wife and I met in our late 30s. She mentioned she had been very promiscuous in her youth, and slowed down to a normal sort of turnover in the last decade. A couple of her friends had the hots for her, and my best friend too. Her last lover remained a close friend and helped carry her coffin when she died 18 years later.

None of that was a problem. She was a wonderful wife and a lovely mother to our son.

If you have done a graduate degree you have a very small range of virgins available unless you want to find someone very much younger, or someone with extreme religious beliefs, or a severe social disability.

[–]fasdadfsdfasfd 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

OK, so you're so feminized you only take the female perspective and are so fully invested in the idea you can't see other perspectives. We grew up on feminism and are now rejecting it. You don't understand the younger generation at all and your generation failed them.

Yet you speak with such authority for someone who isn't even living it...why is it all of these outsiders want to tell us what we live? Is it the same reason they can't discuss concepts, merely dismiss them?

[–]JebberJabber 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

I see plenty of loving young couples. They seem to be nice people. Most of the guys don't seem to be doing any stud stuff, it is just humans doing what humans have always done, falling in love.

Many of them don't recognise terms like MRA and redpill, and know little about feminism either. There is a whole wide world of people who are not interested in gender politics, they just do their thing.

What shocks me most about modern couples is how often neither of them can cook without following a recipe. They can't just go to the fridge, pull out whatever needs to be eaten soon and make something yummy out of it.

It might be interesting for you to talk to a bunch of men and women who were of age in the 70s when feminist attitudes started to spread throughout much of the public. Ask them what period they see as the best for gender relations. I've not met many who think the earlier years were a better way to live. Many disapprove of recent changes and specific things, and of course they don't approve of whatever the radicals are up to, but the most people I've talked to see the broad social changes as progress.

A private date can ruin your work life now.

[–]omegaphallic[S] 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This bullshit is a real victory for MGTOW, the feminists do all there work for them now.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Perhaps in the Pyrrhic victory sense, but as someone who harbors MGTOW sympathies ( more the "going my own way", less the "online bigotry, often ranging into insanity" ), I honestly keep hoping I'm wrong. Or that, if I'm right, society will correct itself.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Worse than that -- the allegation of a private date can ruin your entire life.

[–]Cristoff13 7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I found this article referenced in the feminism reddit:

http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/sexual-harassment-women-life-career-ruined-deserved-adam-blampied-youtube-a8167751.html

It is embarrassing to read this male feminist self flagellate himself over his morally dubious but still entirely legal sexual behavior. He would be better off just shutting up. But anyhow a couple quotes stood out:

and sometimes abusing the relative power of my celebrity in order to negotiate an initial No into a Yes.

For the first time in a life of constant insecurity, I had leverage. Suddenly, I had the negotiating power – as I saw it – to turn a No into a Yes. I got to experience what more self-confident men than I had been “enjoying” for years, riding roughshod over what women wanted in pursuit of what I thought I could gain for myself, and I’m deeply ashamed that I indulged.

So attempting to change an initial "no" into a "yes" through argument and persuasion is now regarded as abusive. The argument here is that women are so vulnerable to coercion that you only get to ask for sex once, and if she says no you don't get to ask again without it becoming abusive.

[–]omegaphallic[S] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I pity him, he's so brain washed, he'll allow the feminists to destroy him and defend his destroyer.

I hate to borrow a modified version of a feminist term, but its clear he has deep internalized Mysandry, he's a self hating man.

[–]OnTheSlope 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The real lunacy of this nonsense is that saying no is just a part of seduction for some women. For men who accept a "no" every time, on principle, we know how irate a woman can get when you accept her "no" for an answer.
