Doesn't make sense because keeping the house was hard work back then.

Sounds like the establishment were trying to get more productivity and profit out of the population through what media brainwashing and universities replaced, the church.

Here, when the government wanted to get women working (1980s) they used shame too, telling them they were a drain on the economy and so on.

Mother had the various modern conveniences but the house work and working part time was hard work.

idk women joining the work force practically doubled the employees so no one is paid as much so now both HAVE to work to get by unless you've got a good paying job.

I think we should go back to 1 stay at home, maybe with a part time job, parent and 1 working full time parent.

Or 15 hour weeks ...

a bit confused, do you mean as a way to make both work, or why neither gets paid as well?

A way to get a whole family supported in exchange for 30 hours of labour.

idk not many companies would want to spend the time getting 2 people to a high level instead of 1.

training and mentoring is time and money taken from other resources

1 person working = gas for work 1 training and regular mentoring 2 people working half the time = 2x training, 2x the mentoring and 2x the gas

say we have a group of 100(50 male 50 female) going for 59 jobs

100 people going for the jobs creates competition making demand higher than supply(in hours of the job)

50 stay at home and the other 50 go for the jobs meaning the supply is higher than demand making workers get paid more but 9 jobs are empty so their businesses crumble.

Idk if that makes as much sense as it did in my head.
