So for those who haven’t watched the show, it’s had a whole character dynamic up until just recently where terry crews character had been sexually harassed by a character named gina on a constant basis as a joke. Quite frankly I don’t care much, it wasn’t played in a dark light and the character was known as the unwholesome one. The issue comes with the latest episode, “he said, she said” which attempts to be another deep political episode like “moo moo”, which was a great serious commentary on actual problems African Americans face. On the other hand this episode plays like an aggressive propaganda piece about how women are assaulted and harassed on a daily basis, it’s about a “he said she said” case on sexual assault where a man attempted to sexually assault a woman and gets his penis broken. It goes on to show how companies silence victims, how the system is broken and how the rapist would go free. The whole episode talks about how hard it is to be a woman, ignorant of how the character who has been sexually harassed since episode 1 was actually sexually assaulted, ignorant of how it’s shown every single thing they make out to be a massive issue for women has been played off for laughs with a man. Sorry this is a mess, I don’t know how to express it otherwise.
