the saddest part is that it almost has as many likes as dislikes.

the saddest part is that it almost has as many likes as dislikes.

The evidence is that they've been busy deleting negative comments and downvotes.

yeah I agree (more adding bot likes) but even then if they somehow manipulated the algorithm, those who liked it legitimately didn't bother to write in the comments any conversation starter. They are 100% dead to the world.

I read pretty far down a few days ago and did not see any positive comments either. I did see a lot of posts saying "stop deleting my post". I would not be surprised if the actual numbers of likes:dislikes is more like 1:10 as it was originally.

Many of the comments indicate that negative comments were previously deleted. One of the top comments that was originally hearted by Gillette because they didn't recognize that they were being trolled was:

"My wife's boyfriend loved this commercial."

This comment has been deleted. I think the actual ratio is an even higher dislike to like ratio.

"My wife's boyfriend loved this commercial."

Yeah, I saw that one.

This comment has been deleted. I think the actual ratio is an even higher dislike to like ratio.

One might conclude that if they're deleting dislikes, they are not above manufacturing likes as well.

It's a lie.

Seeing it happen in real time was eye oppening. The hate against this ad is FAR more widespread than you'd believe based on social media.

All the mainstream media tries its best to be in favor of it.

At the beginning the dislike to like ratio was 10 to 1, but then weird things started happening and people's dislike stopped working. They got a LOT better at deleting all the comments hating on it and a TON of SJW comments started showing up.

I hope SOO much that this is going to tank the whole company.

If you're not aware, Gillette is owned by Procter & Gamble. They have a ton of stuff that you're pretty much guaranteed to use. And they're really easy to replace with the competition.

But why didn't youtube censor the like - dislike ratio for their rewind though? Is it because this is a SJW political thing?

It's just so sad that companies and people don't allow actual real discourse when it comes to this progressiveness stuff. I hate it, bad ideas need questioned. All of them.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It might be something to do with it being an SJW thing, or just circumstances in general.

If they had done it with the rewind thing, all hell would have broken loose, 10x worse.

Then they did it with this ad and no one seems to care.

And it might be because this is an SJW thing. SJWs are actually extremely powerful. You don't want to be publicly against SJWs in a fight like this. There is a fair chance that it will literally ruin your life.

So even people who might be outraged at the precedent this sets on youtube, people who don't even care about mensrights vs sjws. They won't say a word because they'll be scared of retaliation. And what makes things worse, people tend to rationalize their behavior, so they'll just tell themselves it's not because they're scared, it's because it's not that big a deal.

So that makes it a win-win for youtube. They get to set a precedent on vote manipulation and there's no one with the guts to really call them out on it. And if anyone tries, youtube doesn't even have to defend itself, because that person will incur the wrath of the social justice warriors for attacking one of their precious projects.

great points.

To the general public this may look like Gillette is trying to care and make the world a better place however.

  1. It’s a marketing ploy (albeit a bad one because they’re going to piss off their customer base)

Or 2. They feel pressured to conform to the ever growing hate for men as a whole, YAY! /s
