Yet the uproar from her party is about the sexism of this unconfirmed, off-mic slight. Women again proving themselves, no matter how powerful, to be wilting lillies in the face of any criticism.

As much as this is a ridiculous situation - it derails any actual discussion or progress, in parliament of all places - he's a stupid man for even giving the Tories something to turn into theatre.

To be fair, that was actually not only superfluous, but ACTUALLY sexist. For someone who got a job that was impossible to do well and whose strong suit was not eloquence, she has clearly proven more capable than most expected. But even if she was more like, say, Michelle Bachman, saying things like that should indeed not be acceptable, and we should not defend it here.
