Thousands of dads are left in shock as DIY paternity tests soar. Up to 30,000 tests are being performed every year, says Alphabiolabs. In the UK about 750,000 babies are born every year. Feminists want the test to be illegal without the written consent of the mother.

Mother-of-two, 40, falsely branded a neighbour a sex offender because he 'made too much noise building a guinea pig hutch in his garden'. It seems for many women if they do not get their way they make a false sex allegation knowing a man is not protected by the law.

Lower class boys were alienated from the education system and performing very badly over 20 years ago, it isn't like nobody saw the problem coming. Parents with money bought houses in expensive areas with entitlement to schools with fewer of the great unwashed, leaving schools in poor areas to sink into the mire and eventually be turned into Charter schools by for-profit or religious for-profit organisations.

We had an IT competition at school that only girls were allowed to compete in because the stem inequality excuse.

One other time I attended a programming competition where one of the finalists gave this whole speech about the lack of encouragement and unfairness with gender in programming, one of the judges was the leader of a feminist coding organisation.

Almost every programmer, competitor and myself had started with no encouragement and learned themselves through hard work messing around at home, there are no limitations for anyone in these stem fields, not being good at them is your own downfall.

Me too. I got interested in programming as a mid-teen doing mIRC scripts and transitioned into C# with some C/C++ experience under my belt.

I think we need better messaging to get this kind of message out there though. Something along the lines of encouraging your passions, no matter what they are...

And also, don't shame others for their choices... If a woman wants to program, so be it. Find your motivation! If a guy wants to be a secretary, he should be encouraged to do so. Neither gender should be fearful of getting sexually harassed either. The woman in programming shouldn't be called to her male supervisor's office and be asked to perform "favors" for advancement. Neither should the male secretary by his female boss.

tl;dr better messaging is needed.

I agree with you, but I'm not shaming anyones choices, just stating there isn't a big gap in encouragement. Anyone can do anything (within reason) if they enjoy it. Good points though.

I don't think I mentioned or even intended to imply you were shaming. Sorry if that's how it came across. If anything, I was trying to refer to shaming of men in typical female jobs by some of the women who work in them.

wow. finally somebody with some weight in the debate is putting the finger into the wound.

Obviously the Brexit vote hit them where it hurts. Good.
