Many of them decided to hold out until they could get a salary similar to what the were making - because settling affected their manhood.

Routine anti-male bigotry even in a piece supposedly sympathetic towards men (or white men).

White males have been discriminated against since 1961 affirmative action declaration by Kennedy. Not sure this is news.
