Last week the New Zealand Human Rights Commission and the Ministry of Justice held a consultation about the Convention Against Torture. New Zealand is due to report to the UN about it sometime next year.

I attended the meeting to talk about circumcision and bias in the justice system. I expected to have less than 5 minutes to talk because everyone else who attended needed a chance to speak as well. The good news is only two other people turned up and they were not as well prepared as I was. I spoke for something like 20 mins and answered questions from one of the Human's Rights Commission's representatives.

A small win.
