Profiles In Noble Masculinity: Robocop

This is the third entry in my ongoing series to highlight characters who embody some of the best traits in masculinity. So far, I've been pleasantly surprised by how well these pieces have been received. I've even gotten some great suggestions and insights, especially from this sub. For that, I thank you.

I really believe that it's important to highlight male characters who embody the best of masculine traits. There are too many headlines these days that highlight men at their worst. There are far more stories about men at their best that I feel are worth telling. Robocop is just one of them and for all the right reasons. 😊

Brilliant read but they made his face, when his wife touches it and it is cold he says the line, "they made this to honour him". They say in the second film that it was the fact he was a family man, devout Catholic and had a fearless sense of duty that kept him alive.

castrated cop that sacrifice himself for others without any personal gain? A shiny metal white knight ready to "serve and protect" without ever being able to be human again?

I am extremely not impressed by Robocop. He is nothing but a ghost in a machine...

His ultra high sense of justice is also quite annoying. He "respects the laws above all", yes... laws of the state, meaning the powerful. These laws can and are are changed anytime to favor the elite....

He also has "directives" that stop him for having free will....

He is a perfect eunuch defender... a castrated house dog that will give you no trouble, have little free will and demand nothing in return... while he trows his live in front of the bullet for you.

He is one of the most anti-male characters ever created. They are using the "white knight" meta and erase everything else! This way this "metal white knight" is the perfect "man".... No other traits are needed from men!

Loyal, strong, castrated white knight. What a role model for every men!

Sorry, but I deeply believe that Robocop is an attack on masculinity and men. Even he knows it, and in the end tries to fight it... Even when he "wins", the damage is the same... he will never be a man, and he will always remain a walking zombie metal knight ready to "protect and serve" until it will rust one day... or be replaced by other cloned zombie metal knight, a better mode without any "unnecessary" male traits.
