the reason why women get murdered is almost the same reason why men get murdered: money (robbery or health insurance), revenge, jealousy, lies (such as false allegations leading to someone killing them), pleasure, or over something really dumb (drugs, an argument, certain objects, etc.)
very rarely does someone get killed because of their gender (yes, it happens, but it's not the main reason to every murder)
keep in mind that men are 3x more likely to be the victims of homicide, so it clearly isn't directed only towards women.
