Thanks for sharing, was in a similar situation and became immediately aware that there was NO support for men in these situations. Women rallied around my partner but I was constantly ignored or told to sideline my emotions since I didn't "really suffer" and should be supporting my partner instead of "having false feelings".

Anyway similar thing happened when our first was finally born, there were hundreds of mums groups where the mums would share info or help each other etc, but nothing like that for dads.

So eventually I ended up setting up a small WhatsApp group for local dads, its mostly quiet a lot of the time until someone brings up an issue, then all of us seem to pitch in which works well.

I encourage other dads seeking help, or just a kindred ear to start a group if none exists, you'll be surprised by how many other dads might need it.

Im so sorry that the women ignored you and your pain. That is not right. I was going to ask how the men in your life supported you during those times? You saw a gap and you did somethijg about it. Thays really admirable

Most of the men didn't really know how to approach it either since a lot of them either had no experience with that kind of struggle or had similar experiences to mine.

It really only takes one person to reach out or provide some kind of meaningful consolation to have a positive domino effect.

I can see it in our dad group now, issues are brought up that many of us struggled with but never really knew how to address.. When some of us responded there was almost a kind of resounding "oh yeah!" Moment. Then when newer members bring up similar issues, it cascades.

Initially we had a fair amount of struggles in the group since nobody knew what to expect.. So we did the obvious dad jokes here and there, and when everyone realized that it was a (I hate the term, but) "safe space", it picked up the pace and we would just speak our mind about what's bothering us in life or what's good etc.

About Us
Helping one bloke at a time.
Miscarriage for Men, was set up by Chris Whitfield. Chris and his wife Jade suffered a miscarriage in February 2021, and on the back of this, Chris realized that there was very little support or anywhere to turn to for men, who were going through the agony of miscarriage. Whilst a lot of sites offer advice, the majority was tailored towards women (and rightly so) but men will choose to hide this emotion rather than speak up about thier emotional state. This platform is for them to release that emotion and see stories from men in a similar scenario as them and let them know they are not alone.

Nice to see some support for men in this area. I thought some of the gentlemen here might find this resource helpful, though it’s just getting off the ground.

Great support. I have unfortunately dealt with this twice. I have two beautiful boys now and am very grateful for them. Support during the times my wife and I misscarriage would have help make sense of a terrible, terrible time. Luckily, we had a very solid relationship. I feel for those couples who are early in thier relationship and a misscarriage happens.
