I want to answer this even if it's locked because a lot of Christians get this wrong based on what the world tells them.

If you're a man who's type A and likes to run set schedules then you should marry a woman who likes that and not a type A woman who you would butt heads with.

If you're a man who has a more laid back leadership style then you should marry someone who can handle a lot of delegated authority effectively.

Neither of these are wrong. They're just different ways marriage can be expressed within God's roles and responsibilities. Yet most Christians would call the type A man with a woman who likes that authority structure "controlling" and "in sin." No, they're just butting their heads into marriages where they don't belong and causing unnecessary friction and contentiousness.

No, it is not only normal but has been normal for the entirety of human existence until about half a century ago.
