Out of all the reasons MeToo has failed as many people as it has helped, this is NOT one of them. One enabling person saying "he is nice because he offered me food" doesn't have the right to shut down multiple people's allegations of terrifying abuse towards anyone. I am all for making sure that allegations are real. But being familiar with clinical PTSD, its diagnostic process and the experience of such feelings, the multiple people alleging these things sound absolutely truthful. Of course nothing is proven, but there is quite zero reason to give MM the benefit of the doubt in such a way.

I don't know what this quote is supposed to tell us, but this is a subreddit about having agency and taking responsibility for our lives, not about discussing victim mentality in the western world. Making a post that associates the "western woman" with being a "helpless puppet" in a case of humiliating and dehumanizing abuse is nothing short of gross and inappropriate.

Edit: I just realized you are self-posting and that this is your own video. This has nothing to do with RPW or values and you are excusing a terrible abuser. Shame on you.

I do agree. However, he's been accused by 6 different women, independently from one another, who in part have evidence that they have been professionally diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorders, which are incredibly hard to 'fake'. Part of their allegations include being threatened with guns to their head, and MM has made public statements about fantasizing about chopping his partner's head off with a sledgehammer. Some of his lyrics say the same. Obviously lyricism is an art form, but there is a line.

Marilyn Manson has also stated things such as "If you want to get a man, spread your damn legs", "If you want to keep a man, shut your fucking mouth", that women shouldn't mouth off, that they should show men their 'business' parts if they want one, that a relationship is over if the girl wears sweatpants because he's not gonna fuck them anymore, all of this under the cover that it's simply how he was raised and "that's what my dad said". And honestly more disgusting stuff. He has punched a woman in the head during a show (his words were he "brained" the member "of female genus", and that he apologized by kissing her and laughing at his "fist-print on her forehead"), he has put a gun in the mouths of multiple journalists, something that got him charged for assault and battery, and has stated that "I would never kill myself, I'm not a quitter. If I'm going out I'm taking everyone with me, strangers first." I'll say it, that's a suicide bomber mentality.

He has also publically stated that shortly after his breakup with one of the women, he called her almost 160 times while cutting himself and making himself bleed in order to show her what pain she was causing him. He said "I wanted her to physically see what she had done." She was 19, he was 36, and he said this proudly. This is the girl that also accused him of raping her believing she was unconscious, amongst other things. It's truly terrifying.

I am all for innocent until proven guilty, but there is only so much you need to be able to tell the likely outcome. Not a guarantee, but you get the point. Make your own judgment. If a terrible person is accused of terrible things, the leap isn't that far.
