There was a job posting at my work (corporate finance) and I know the position got a lot of interest, internally and externally.
It is an interesting job, big promotion, large salary increase from the current entry-level job I am doing now. Just in my department alone, literally all 4 girls (ages 24-32) I work alongside with applied for the same job.
Well I just got notified that I was the chosen one. No surprise as I did genuinely feel I was the most qualified and interviewed very well.
This is going to become public information next week. Any tips on how to best handle this transition? I know these girls are going to be pissed that they didn't get the job and now they are also losing me (a resource).
