Why do so many people on this sub lump all couple violence in together?

Because of the simple principle called 'keep your damn hands to yourself.'

You don't see Peter Dinklage running around slapping people, do you? Why? Because despite being three feet tall, he's still a man, and he knows better. Men are held to the standard of reason. (Some) women don't want to be held to the standard of reason, only the standard of what benefits them at that particular moment.

This second form of IPV is attended by certain patterns of behaviour, and inflicted by a particular personality type: control is all-important, there's systematic emotional manipulation, there's sadistic threats and acts that serve no purpose other than shoring up the abuser's power and giving him/her a "high".

You could have just said (some) 'women'.

Don't confuse this issue by oversimplifying ludicrously and saying "all violence is equally abhorrent/dangerous".

You don't want to get hit, keep your fucking hands in your pockets. Fuck your feelings.

Fists get answered with fists. I don't give a fuck if you are smaller, weaker, or even stupid.

If you're not prepared to scrap, don't touch anybody.
